An Open Letter to the Bitcoin Core Team

Dear BTC core team. You have done very well the last few years. Some of the innovations have been spot on, and we thank you for the work you put in. Being an open source project, it's not been easy and we get it.

I would like to invite you all to please have a look at LTC. I understand you all may have your reservations, and opinions on this coin. All of those may also be very well founded, but given the current debate around bitcoin scaling, I would hope you at least hear me out.

Bitcoin is close to mass adoption, a dream we all have. This will mean that BTC will be both a store of value and a mode of payments. Now more than ever we need to push on and add all the features that you all have introduced and are now being adopted by coins around the world. BTC will go up, make new highs, correct and go up higher. It will need Smart Contracts, LN, Segwit, Ring CT / Anon Txs and a lot of other tech has been researched, worked on and contributed from you guys.

Currently in the market, there is absolutely no coin that is better suited to roll these out on than LTC. LTC could be the main branch, of your BTC branch, this is good for absolutely everyone and the whole ecosystem. LTC has never ever claimed to solve world problems, or power the universe. It has always claimed one thing only, which is silver to bitcoins gold. LTC was made with one agenda only, which is a faster more liquid bitcoin. Not once since creation has LTC ever threatened, or claimed to threaten BTC. In quite contrast, LTC is the only coin out there that is purely dependent on the existence of BTC and gives its due credit. All other coins are also forks, but I will leave you to decide all the other world problems they aim to solve (and fail).

I know Charlie has reached out, and I think the whole community will rally behind you. This will in turn allow you to include those changes into the core software, because there will already be a use case in existence. I hope you reconsider, and I hope you see a value proposition here. LTC has always been BTC Junior. Time to let jon snow back into the kingdom to help while BTC sits on the throne.
