My greed cost me a lot

So, since I usualy read only about 'great' trades and ROI's, I'd like to share my fail-story as well. I do this at 3.30am local time.

I have been a BTC hodler for about 3 years now. Things were good and I believe in bitcoin a lot. When the price was dropping and dropping I kept on buying and buying, for the simple reason that I believe in Bitcoin.

Enter a few days ago: Ripple was on the rise. I thought I could increase my BTC-stack a bit by following the ripple trend. I was stupid and went all in… I should never have gone all in on anything. I'm not all in on bitcoin, so why would I put all my hard earned btc in something I do know little to nothing about, right? Well… enter the greed I thought I had left behind me a long time ago.

Price of ripple kept dropping almost as soon as I bought in… Price of btc kept rising, and normaly I would be over the moon (2.500 bitstamp time of writing :o)…

Long story short: I could not sleep tonight nor keep my eyes of the charts. I finaly bit the bullet in half and sold all of my XRP for BTC again. A lesson that cost me almost half of my btc stack… Bitcoins I worked hard for getting. Bitcoins I saved a little bit for each month. Bitcoins I believed in. Gone. Because I was (probably still am) greedy and stupid, still. Even after '3 years in cryptoland'.

TL:DR: I had to share this. Not for me, not for pitty but for the hope that someone who is about to make a dumb decision and invest in something he or she does not really believe in but gets tempted to do so because of a nice short term chart might think twice about doing so.

Next steps for me: rebuy bitcoin gradually. Not all is lost, far from it. I'm glad I got out and got this off my chest to be honest. I hope all of you btc-hodlers out there are having a hell of a time and I'll slowly but surely feel like 'one of the group' again. Good night, good trades, and never invest more then you are willing to lose. Luckely I did not and I 'just' spent some money I could afford to lose each month or this would be a MUCH harder lesson for me.

EDIT: spelling
